Scott A. Smith
Chairman and Co-Founder
After graduating from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN with a B.S. degree in Business/Marketing from the School of Business in 1986, Scott began his career in Los Angeles as a sales representative for Kendall McGaw Laboratories, Inc. an intravenous medical products manufacturer.  Scott’s 12 year career at McGaw included various positions within Sales, Human Resources, and Region Management in California, Tennessee, and North Carolina.  In 1998, Scott accepted a position as Regional Manager with Laser Vision Centers, Inc. of St. Louis, MO.  The company, now known as TLC Vision Corporation is the largest eye care services company in North America and specializes in Refractive Surgery.  Scott is currently in his 9th year with TLC Vision and he serves in a senior manager capacity as the Vice President of Refractive Services for the Mid Atlantic.  Scott is the son of Gary and Sharon Smith and currently resides in Matthews, NC with his wife Michele and their 2 children Drake and Kendall.

Michele Hummer-Smith
Vice President/Fund Raising Chair
After Graduating from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN with a B.S. degree in Fashion Merchandising from the College of Arts and Sciences, Michele began her career in Indianapolis as a manager with Casual Corner.  She initiated her successful sales career with Moore-Langen also in Indianapolis before relocating to Nashville, TN as a sales representative with Interior Design Systems.  She then transferred to Charlotte, NC as a representative of Office Environments and then on to Interface Inc. as a very successful sales executive covering the North and South Carolina territory.  She is actively involved in numerous fund raising efforts including the Gary M. Smith Foundation, Antioch Elementary School, Matthews Athletic and Recreation Association (MARA), and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Michele currently resides in Matthews, NC with her husband Scott and their 2 children Drake and Kendall.

Janet L. Wilson
Vice-President/Treasurer, Co-Founder
Graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education.  Currently she is a Middle School social studies teacher at St. Louis Catholic School in Batesville, Indiana where she has taught for 9 years.  Prior to teaching, Janet worked at Southeastern Indiana YMCA as the Director of Fitness and has worked with the Red Cross as a CPR Instructor.  Janet and her husband Rob are the parents of Gary’s 2 eldest grandchildren.  Robbie is 22 and in May graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.  Ryan is 19 and entering his sophomore year at Indiana State University where he plans to graduate with a degree in Secondary Education and obtain a license to coach football.  Janet and Rob currently reside in Batesville, Indiana.
